The Golden Globes took place on Sunday, and it wasn’t very gay, but here’s what you need to know. Proud transphobe and annoying atheist Ricky Gervais won an award for some reason, and because he wasn’t there to accept it, lesbian comedian Wanda Sykes accepted the award on his behalf. “He would like to thank God and the trans community,” she joked on stage. Sykes was one of several celebrities wearing pins that read BE GOOD and ICE OUT, in honor of Renée Good and others killed or harmed by ICE. Tessa Thompson, Natasha Lyonne, and Ariana Grande also wore pins. If you want to read something great about Good’s horrific killing and our current political climate, check out this piece from Sarah Thankam Mathews, snuff film political economy.
