Minnie Bruce Pratt, Alabama native who pushed for LGBTQ equality, dies at 76 - al.com

I’m saddened to report the passing of Minnie Bruce Pratt, a lesbian activist and poet. Pratt was the longtime partner of antiracist, anticapitalist trans activist and author Leslie Feinberg, who died in 2014. Her 1990 book Crimes Against Nature detailed her experiences as a lesbian raising sons, and her 1995 memoir S/he in part details her relationship with Feinberg. “The struggle–for social justice and for workers and oppressed people, against racism and imperialism and for liberation for women and all gender and sexually-oppressed people–is my life,” reads a section on her website. Her site also honors Feinberg, whose last words were “Remember me as a revolutionary communist.” Donate to a mutual aid fund today in her honor.
